RESEARCH

Peng Zhang received his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015, and trained as a postdoctoral research associate at the Children's National Medical Center and University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has been an Assitant Professor with the Division of Immunotherapy and the Director of Bioinformatics Core at the Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine until 2021. He joined the National Center for Children's Health as a Professor at the Beijing Pediatric Research Institute of Beijing Children's Hospital/Capital Medical University in 2021. Peng Zhang is a computational biologist with expertise in biomedical informatics and immunogenomics. His laboratory focuses on integrative mining and framework development from sequencing data generated on high throughput techniques in tumor immune characterization, drug response and resistance.

(1) Development of bioinformatics algorithms and computational frameworks to study the genetic, cellular, and immunological mechanisms of complex diseases;

(2) Utilization of single-cell sequencing and spatial-omics approaches to systematically analysis of tumor immunity to inform effective cancer therapies;

(3) Application of cutting-edge genomics and AI technologies to accelerate drug discovery and development.
